I am an experienced teacher and have taught a wide range of courses in gender and sexuality studies, global history, and US cultural history. Much of my research is about the reproduction of power; I teach in a way that subverts that reproduction through transparency and situating my classroom in the broader world. I emphasize inclusion with my students—I believe that their backgrounds are assets in their pursuit of knowledge.
I have taught workshops on implementing feminist grading praxis in the classroom, and most recently won the Wise Woman Award for Feminist Teaching at TCU.
